At the annual meeting there was a concern raised about the number of short term rentals around the lake. The Tourism Zone Commission is responsible for monitoring permits for short term rentals They publish a list twice a year of permitted properties. As of May 2021 there were 17 permits listed on Clark Lake. Visit their website to learn more about the required processes for offering property for short term rental.

 

Sevastopol is exploring an ordinance concerning short term rentals and a member inquired as to the association’s position concerning the ordinance. CLAA, as a nonprofit, does not take a position on a political issue.

 

The association does encourage safe, respectful and environmentally sound behavior from all lake users.

The Door County Sheriff is the enforcement agent for both Sevastopol and Jacksonport so contact them if there is a concern about safety, parking, noise or other issues. The DNR warden is available for state environmental regulation concerns.
